Oops... I Changed My Mind
(4/14/04) Contra Costa Times

The New York Post says Britney Spears, inviting almost certain controversy, has decided to keep a controversial bathtub death scene in her forthcoming video, "Everytime." The vid's supposed to be an edgy smack-back to ex-beau Justin Timberlake, who trashed Spears in his video for "Cry Me a River." (Couldn't these two just exchange snippy e-mails and leave the rest of us out of it?) Spears' vid shows Stephen "I'm Not Justin But I Play Him on TV" Dorff, who is shown ripping up magazine covers bearing his ex's photo. Then it cuts to a close-up of Brit dead in a bathtub. Earlier reports of the scene were slammed by some claiming that Spears, as a powerful teen role model, would be glorifying suicide. And for a time, Spears had opted to snip the bathtub scene. Now, says the Post, she's changed her mind. No word on why.
