Dance-off for Lindsay, Wilmer?
(4/14/05) AZcentral

Not be outdone by the legendary Justin/Britney dance-off of '03, former flames Lindsay Lohan and Wilmer Valderrama got each other's attention recently with a dance-off of their own at New York's trendy nightclub Suede, reports PEOPLE.

A source for the hot spot said, "Lindsay got there, had her energy drink, and all of a sudden they started glaring at each other. And they get up and start dancing. Then they were dancing on top of the banquettes, and then Wilmer does this almost Michael Jackson impression on the dance floor! It was like a scene out of a comedy movie. It was really, really funny."

'N Sync-ers Joey Fatone and JC Chasez, and Pamela Anderson and her boyfriend Stephen Dorff couldn't keep their eyes off of the dancing duo.

"The two of them would glance at each other, and then dance harder. The whole crowd was just staring at them. Even Pam Anderson and Stephen Dorff were like, 'Are these people kidding?' " says the source. But a joke it was not. "They did not say a word to each other the whole night."

Hmm, it seems to us that if the two of them still care enough to try to get under each other's skin, then maybe a chance at reconcilation isn't too far off. Well, either that or a hysterical sketch of the incident on 'Saturday Night Live.'

JC Chasez, Sophia Bush, Others Wish Britney Well On Her Pregnancy
(04/13/05) MTV.com

"Her heart is as big as her whole body, and that child will be loved from the top of its head to the bottom of its feet." — JC Chasez

Now that the word is out, how is Hollywood reacting to news that Britney Spears is officially a mom-to-be? Many Tinseltown luminaries attending Details magazine's Next Big Things red carpet on Tuesday night were abuzz about the impending birth.

Most notably, JC Chasez, a fellow former Mouseketeer and bandmate of her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, couldn't be happier for Spears.

"Everybody should be happy for her," Chasez said. "You know, it's a miracle, bringing a new life into the world. She's a married woman, and she and her husband decided they wanted to have a child, and do you know what? Her heart is as big as her whole body, and that child will be loved from the top of its head to the bottom of its feet. And she's had a great mother as a role model."

"Hey, she's doing it right," said actress Joy Bryant, who plays 50 Cent's love interest in his upcoming film. "She's married, and it's nice not to have kids out of wedlock. And she always wanted to be a mom."

"Good for her," said Sophia Bush of "One Tree Hill." "If she's ready, and they're ready, none of us are going to really ever know what goes on in their house and their relationship, so more power to her."

No one seemed to have any doubts that Spears would make a good mom, or as actor Matt Long (who plays Jack McCallister on "Jack & Bobby") put it, "I would hope so, for the child's sake."

But there was a bigger question looming: What do you get for the expecting pop star who has everything?

"I'm sure Britney could get anything she wanted, so it would be hard to go to her baby shower," said actress Kaley Cuoco of "8 Simple Rules." "You wouldn't know what the heck to get her."

"I can't pick one gift for people," Bush said. "I end up buying half the baby store and bringing boxes to the showers, so I don't know if I could select anything."

How about the fail-safe and always cute selection of baby shoes?

"I think I would probably get, like, baby Minnetonka boots," Bryant said.

"You know, my cousin just got pregnant, and I got her baby Uggs," Cuoco concurred. "I thought it was the cutest thing in the world. So I'd get her baby Uggs."

Black Eyed Peas Team Up Again With Timberlake For New LP
(4/13/05) MTV.com

Hoping to recapture the lightning in a bottle that was "Where Is the Love," the Black Eyed Peas have re-teamed with Justin Timberlake, cutting a song together for their new album, Monkey Business.

The 'NSYNC breakout star guests on a funky Peas song called "My Style," which picks up where Timberlake's "Señorita" left off. It starts with the lyric "It seems like something's heating up" and includes a shout-out to the guest star: "JT, he rocking the beat with us."

"The song we did with Justin, that was a true collaboration," the group's Will.I.Am said. "Not that the other ones weren't, but that was done from scratch. We just had the beat [to start with]."

Other sessions held for Monkey Business involved James Brown, John Legend and Jack Johnson. For "Union," an interpretation of Sting's "Englishman in New York," the group ushered in the former Police man himself.

"Sting shows up at the studio, and he's like, 'What do you want me to do?' " Will said. "So we asked him, 'Do you want to write a verse?' [He said,] 'Oh, you don't know what you're doing yet?' So we said, 'We're collaborating — to one of your songs.' "

Conversely, "My Style," the last song the Peas recorded for Monkey Business, came together without much effort or explanation.

"Basically what happened was Timbaland popped the beat," Will said. "And then Justin was like, 'Yo, you trying to get down on another song?' [I said,] 'As a matter of fact, Timbaland gave me a beat, you want to write to it?' "

Timberlake then met up with the band at Will's private studio, the Stewchia, in the Los Feliz section of Los Angeles, and wrote the song immediately.

"We listened to it, we're all, 'This is hot, we'll write our verses later,' " Will said. "It was all boom-boom-boom, ba-da-ba, bit-da-bit, boom-boom-sk-ow."

Monkey Business is due June 7.

Timberlake's film set for reshoots?
(4/13/05) Ireland Online

Pop star Justin Timberlake's controversial new movie Alpha Dog is set for series of reshoots after the real-life fugitive the film is based on was captured last month.

The singer plays one of alleged killer Jesse James Hollywood's sidekicks in a gang that systematically kidnapped and tortured California youths.

But, after Hollywood was apprehended in Santa Maria, California, after a four- year search for him, Timberlake and co-stars like Sharon Stone and Emile Hirsch have been told to prepare themselves for a possible new ending to the Nick Cassavetes film.

Jesse James Hollywood became the FBI's youngest fugitive when he went undercover in 2001.

He pleaded not guilty to kidnapping and murder charges on Monday.

(4/11/05) contactmusic

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE gave his girlfriend CAMERON DIAZ some moral support on 9 April's (05) edition of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, when he reprised his role as ROBIN GIBB and joined her in a skit.

Diaz served as the show's guest host on Saturday and partway through, Timberlake joined her for a comedy sketch - as well as her CHARLIE'S ANGELS co-star DREW BARRYMORE and former series regular JIMMY FALLON.

The stars teamed up for THE BARRY GIBB TALK SHOW, which featured Fallon as the BEE GEES star and Timberlake as his brother Robin.

Donning a wig and a cream three-piece suit Timberlake danced and sang before sitting as a silent sidekick to Fallon's Barry as he interviewed Democrat politician NANCY PELOSI, played by Diaz, and conservative columnist ANN COULTER, portrayed by Barrymore.

Timberlake played Robin Gibb when he presented the show in 2003.

Last month (MAR05), Hollywood heart-throb ASHTON KUTCHER was joined by his girlfriend DEMI MOORE as he hosted the longrunning show.

Ham radio fans want to be heard
(4/10/05) ModBee.com

TURLOCK — They gave up their Saturday so they could study, but if they pass, the 20 or so people taking the federal licensing test will be able to talk with folks around the world and even in space.

The Turlock Amateur Radio Club held its fifth class to help people become ham radio operators. The club has licensed more than 70 hams in previous sessions, said Dick Decker, the club member who runs the class.

About 85 percent of the people who take the class pass the test, which is a mix of radio practices, some electronics understanding and federal rules.

Those who pass will join the ranks of the 667,000 American hams that include newsman Walter Cronkite, Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh, the late actor Marlon Brando and 'N Sync's Lance Bass...

PITT AND BONO UNITE FOR AFRICA
(4/6/05) contactmusic

BRAD PITT and BONO teamed up in Los Angeles to launch a new fight against AIDS and poverty in Africa yesterday (06APR05).

The superstar duo are backing the new ONE campaign, which is aimed at creating an army of Americans keen to help wipe out disease and poverty in Africa.

Bono, who took a break from U2's American tour to attend the launch, says, "We're asking for people's voice... We're getting a little army together - a million Americans, all ages, all backgrounds; just saying it's not acceptable what's going on in Africa. (There are) people dying for no good reasons... We can fix that."

Pitt adds, "I have seen it, I have been there and to walk away from it, turn my back on it makes me culpable, and I cannot do that."

"I've seen a real shift in the definition of what America is and there's a real misconception out there that's growing and taking hold, and that is that we're opportunists, that we're only there if it serves us."

US TV networks ABC and MTV have joined forces to offer free airtime to the stars' new public service announcement about the plight of Africans. The 60-second spot, which will air on Sunday (10APR05), will also feature JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, TOM HANKS and JAMIE FOXX.

NYC Life
(4/4/05) The Village Voice

Speaking of the Knitting Factory, HAR MAR SUPERSTAR, whom I had the pleasure of meeting at an INTERPOL after-after-after-party several weeks ago (don't ask), will be playing there on April 19. ("Hey, that's the eve of 4/20, so if anyone wants to bring me any weed . . . " Uh-huh.) He's busy writing songs for the remaining members of INXS, who are filming a reality show for CBS documenting their search for a new lead singer to replace MICHAEL HUTCHENCE. He's also penning ditties for JC CHASEZ, unleashing his wickedness on unsuspecting mainstream crowds. Har Mar says he did the same for KELLY OSBOURNE, but "it was too dirty to get used. Same thing for J.LO. They gave me a week to do it, so I wrote something tongue-in-cheek sort of making fun of her. It was all about her getting fucked by black men." Well, metaphorically speaking (lots of chocolate and caramel references). Lest you think such stunts stunt his career, Har Mar says it only gets him more work. He's working on still more songs, which are being shopped around to KYLIE MINOGUE and
PARIS HILTON. Har Mar world domination is around the corner.

Willis to adopt Timberlake for Die Hard 4.0?
(4/4/05) Cinematical

It turns out that Bruce Willis took such a liking to Justin Timberlake on the set of Alpha Dog that he wants to adopt him… as John McClane Jr! An Insider reports that Willis is trying to convince him into playing his on screen son in Die Hard 4.0.

The son role was originally featured breifly in the original Die Hard, but not seen since. In 4.0 he’ll be in his twenties and with his sister Lucy, will involved in John McClane’s latest adventure. The trades reported that Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson auditioned for the Lucy roll last year.

Ben Affleck was rumored to be Willis’ top candidate by trades last week, but word is that the studio is looking for someone more popular. But the media also made it out like Affleck and Willis have been good buddies since working together in Armageddon. But on the Jersey Girl commentary Director Kevin Smith mentioned the Fresh Prince cameo was originally written for Willis (also from Jersey), who Affleck could never get a call back from to appear in the film.

But for now, Timberlake is under consideration, but not a lock.

Depp gets gunged
(4/4/05) Radio 1

Johnny Depp has been gunged.

He was at the A-list-tastic Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards in America. It's where Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake got together for the first time.

Ben Stiller hosted it, wearing what he called a 'protective condom' so he wouldn't get gunked. Justin Timberlake appeared to blow orange slime out of his ears.

Johnny Depp was set up when he thought he was being brought on stage to admister a gunging, but instead got covered in the stuff himself.

Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx was also there and said he loved it because it made him feel like a kid again:

"Right here they get a chance to wear what they wanna wear, hang out."

"They got music playing, all the stars are being cool and they're taking pictures."

"I'm taking pictures. I'm a kid too!"

Kids' Choice Awards
(4/3/05) Biz.Yahoo.com

LOS ANGELES, April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Adam Sandler, Hilary Duff, Will Smith, Usher, Avril Lavigne, Romeo, Raven, "SpongeBob SquarePants" and Tony Hawk are among those who clinched coveted Kids' Choice Blimp Awards at Nickelodeon's 18th Annual Kids' Choice Awards, in a live telecast featuring the hottest stars of TV, movies, music and sports, Saturday, April 2 (8 p.m. ET/tape delay PT). Kids honored their favorites at this year's no-holds-barred kudos/mess-slime fest hosted for the first time by Ben Stiller at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion.

Over 15 million kids voted in a total of 15 categories on Nick.com and via cell phones by wireless text messaging, March 7-April 2, and for their Favorite Athlete, Favorite Book and Favorite Video Game through a mail-in ballot offered exclusively in Nickelodeon Magazine's March issue.

Tally yielded Favorite Movie Actress for last year's Favorite Singer, Hilary Duff (A Cinderella Story); and Favorite Movie Actor for last year's Wannabe Award winner Adam Sandler (50 First Dates) who won a pair of Blimps in 2003, too, for Mr. Deeds and 8 Crazy Nights. The Incredibles nabbed Favorite Movie while Will Smith scored his fourth Blimp, this year as Favorite Voice in an Animated Movie (Shark Tale). SpongeBob SquarePants absorbed honors for the third consecutive year as Favorite Cartoon. Top TV awards went to American Idol as Favorite Show and to Romeo (Romeo!) and last year's winner Raven (That's So Raven) as Favorite Actor and Actress. Tony Hawk notched his third consecutive Blimp for Favorite Athlete. In music, Usher clinched Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song (Burn), while Avril Lavigne was Favorite Female Singer. Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events took Favorite Book honors.

In a show highlight, The Wannabe Award, an annual honor bestowed on a celebrity role model who kids most "want to be," was presented to Queen Latifah by Halle Berry. Upon accepting the award, Queen Latifah thanked Nickelodeon, kids of America -- and her parents for, "setting such a good example ... I wanna be like my mom and dad," she said, and she urged parents to "raise your kids right."

And in a breathtaking Kids' Choice stunt, Donald Trump triggered a World Record-setting human cannonball with his oft-dreaded declaration, "You're fired!" And Nick Cannon fired off colorful commentary, as the skyward soaring daredevil wowed the crowd and stayed true to Kids' Choice tradition with the never-before-attempted slimy feat -- ultimately landing in a net that exploded into Nickelodeon's signature green slime.

Jamie Foxx astounded all with his "eye-robics" rotating his eyeballs in different directions and took home a Blimp in a brand-new category emceed by Justin Timberlake this year: "Celebrity Hidden Talent." He revealed the singular skill on the orange carpet, competing with other stars' jaw-dropping demonstrations, including Cameron Diaz's "A Speak," her special language, and Jessica Alba's double-jointed backwards thumb. During the show kids voted for their favorite in real time on nick.com.

In a climactic moment of mess, slime showers splashed down on a surprised Johnny Depp, drenching him from head to toe, spreading goo to host Ben Stiller. Craving a sliming, Stiller dove into a puddle of slime eliciting additional shrieks of delight from the crowd. Not ready for slime time Will Ferrell gleefully weathered slime showers too, courtesy of Mia Hamm. This year's stars sloshed in the footsteps of previous years' wearers of the green, including Mike Myers, Tom Cruise, Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, Ashley and Mary Kate Olsen and Rosie O'Donnell.

The star-studded telecast featured celebrity participants including Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, Chris Rock, Halle Berry, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Adam Brody, Jimmy Fallon, Will Ferrell, Jamie Lynn Spears, Lil' Romeo, George Lopez, Haden Christiansen and the cast of Star Wars, Amber Tamblyn, Ice Cube, Alyssa Milano, Amanda Bynes, Frankie Muniz, Hilary Duff, the cast of American Idol -- Ryan Seacrest, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson -- Mia Hamm, Jessica Alba, Drake Bell, Josh Peck, Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Jesse McCartney, Devon Werkheiser, and the cast of All That.

Four-time Kids' Choice Award winner Will Smith marked his first award show musical performance in three years with the debut of Switch from his upcoming album Lost and Found, in a lavish production number replete with a panoply of clowns, drummers and dancers sambaing around a magnificent cotton candy machine. Playing a key part in the grand plan, multi-platinum selling punk-pop quintet Simple Plan rocked the house -- and got the slime flowing -- by performing Shut Up!, their latest single off their current sophomore album "Still Not Getting Any," from the middle of the mosh pit.

Furthermore, U-Pick Live's Brent Popolizio, Candace Bailey and Pick Boy kicked off the night with a unique live two-hour pre-show, Countdown to Kids' Choice (6-7:30 p.m. ET/PT), featuring celebrity interviews on the orange carpet, preceding the Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards. A special episode premiere of The Fairly OddParents (7:30 p.m. ET/PT) led directly into the awards telecast. The entire awards telecast will encore Sunday, April 3 at 4p.m.; Tuesday, April 5 at 5 p.m. and Saturday, April 9 at 6 p.m.(all times ET/PT).
