“The song I released wasn't even supposed to be a
single. I guess after it came out… they were like,
'You've got to do a record now, it's kind of a big
deal.’”

Edison wraps this weekend
(4/28/04) Hollywood North Report

With production on Edison all but wrapped it’s only fitting that we cap of our production coverage with a few new pictures from the set courtesy of Photoboy. We get our first look at Dylan McDermott looking a little bit ‘gangster’ in character with his black leather jacket. Also a few last shots of everybody’s favorite boy toy Justin Timberlake; all the pictures were taken on location at the Art Gallery in Downtown Vancouver. We’re told that the production will wrap this Saturday (May 1st) and all that’s being done over the next few days is re-shoots and pickups.

Ticket rush Justinsane
(4/28/04) Melbourne Herald Sun Australia

THE promoters of the Justin Timberlake tour will be laughing all the way to the bank after yesterday's amazing ticket sales.

The first show at Festival Hall sold out in just 10 minutes, and the second in under two hours.

A third show was announced for Sunday, June 13, and is expected to sell quickly.

At $130 a ticket, and with 5000 seats per concert, you can work out the maths.

We're told 500 tickets were offered on Tuesday on the Frontier Touring website.

Nova 100 is presenting the tour, but oddly yesterday arch-rival Fox FM was promoting it.

On Fox's website. there's an "I love Justin" link and advertised today's ticket date.

We understand both stations had bid to present Timberlake, with Nova winning out.

The American dominates the play lists of both Nova and Fox.

JC Chasez Schizophrenic

The former *NSYNC star delivers a stunning album thats bound to surprise critics and fans - 15 tracks of delicious pop which have been artfully created by someone who is unconcerned with current trends and what's hip, remaining true to himself.

JC co-wrote every tune and has created a set of funky grooves that range from an Outkast sound to dancehall reggae inspired beats. His current chart smash Some Girls (Dance With Women) / Blowin' Me Up (With Her Love) is a good indicator of just how good this album is. The boyband days are now firmly behind him.

GrooveVolt Schizo review
(4/28/04) David Bryan GrooveVolt (thanks Eva!)

The comparisons to boy-bandmate Justin Timberlake are pretty obvious when one discusses JC Chasez’ career. A former Mickey Mouse Club star, and current member of *Nsync, the careers of Chasez and Timberlake have been intertwined for more than a decade.

Yet, when it was time for Chasez to release his solo debut, it veered wildly away from the direction that many might have expected. Aptly titled Schizophrenic, the disc leans much more heavily on the world of electronic music than his band mate’s solo debut did. It also tests the waters of techno, soul, reggae, and even New Wave music, while dipping its foot into a much more adult end of the lyrical pool. Chasez admitted this to be the case in a recent interview, when he said, “I didn’t create a formula or anything like that. Instead, I wanted my album to feel organic. So I just did a variety of the music I love.”

The first impression that hits those who listen to the 27-year-old’s disc is its sexy nature. Explicit at times, the subjects of the songs range through all orientations on the sexual spectrum. The first single, “Some Girls (Dance with Women),” serves as a perfect example of the direction (some might say erection) that Chasez’ disc takes.

The new disc reflects the emotions and themes that a man of Chasez’ age deals with in his daily life. He can’t be a boy forever and he proves on Schizophrenic that he is more than capable of being a man.
