Young, gifted and arrogant

and his best pals make Hollywood their playground in a new comedy
produced by Mark Wahlberg...
...Right now, there's a small cottage industry that bows at the
altar of celebrity bling-bling. Cable is filled with shows such
as "Cribs," "It's Good to Be...," even "Punk'd,"
which is proudly displaying Justin Timberlake's home at the same
time he's being fooled into thinking he's gone broke...
Nothing left to love about '90s
(7/11/04) Sarah Rodman Boston

VH1 may "Love the '90s,'' but it's too fresh to wax nostalgic
about flannel and Tickle Me Elmo.
The wounds of the Spice Girls have not yet healed. The repercussions
of ``The Real World'' beam nightly out of our TVs.And enthusiasm
for allowing your underwear to be visible through your clothes has,
pitiably, not yet waned.
So instead of celebrating the '90s, as VH1 will, starting Monday
at 9 p.m. with two years each night, we've decided to reminisce
about 10 things we didn't like about the designer decade. Or as
Antoine Merriweather and Blaine Edwards of "In Living Color's''
"Men on Film'' might say, "Hated it.''
10. Assembly-line pop - built FM tough: Starting chronologically
with Color Me Badd and taking it right up through the Spice Girls
and onto the finish line with Britney Spears: We love good disposable
pop music - case in point the Backstreet Boys' ``I Want It That
Way'' - it serves a useful function, especially in the summer. But
when the deluge of synths and sweetness started raining down, it
was hard not to get hit with the crap as well as the cream of the
crop.
...2. Guilty, guilty, guilty: AlthoughO.J. was acquitted, his
trial spawned our all-consuming celebrity-trial/bad-behavior obsession.
Here are some things that we professed to be too cool for but secretly
loved: "Saved by the Bell,'' Urkel, 'N SYNC and "The E!
True Hollywood Story...''
