Timberlake Takes On 'Stalking' Photog
(7/28/04) Celebrity
Justice
Pop icon Justin Timberlake is fighting back against a photographer
that the pop star says is "stalking" him. The 'NSYNC
singing sensation has asked a Los Angeles judge to keep the
paparazzo away from him and his trainer.
"CJ" has obtained court papers in which Timberlake
accuses Artemus Earl Lister of inflicting great fear upon
him. Excerpts from Timberlake's declaration include him saying,
"I have been stalked and harassed continually,"
and "The defendant has been stalking me outside of my
home almost everyday and aggressively follows me throughout
the day" and "When I am driving on the street, defendant
drives recklessly, erratically and agressively."
Timberlake also says that one time when his trainer took
Lister's camera away, the photographer tried to strike him.
Timberlake isn't asking anyone for pity, but he was able
to justify his pleas for protection. The singer and his trainer,
Robert Bonner, were granted a three-year restraining order
against the allegedly fanatical photographer.
Justin Timberlake Fights Fire With Fire

I’ve never really understood why there's this huge
fascination with catching celebrities without their makeup
or while they’re on vacation. Most of the time they
look pretty hideous and the stories surrounding them are usually
something like, "Madonna spotted buying gloves…
on sale!" That’s why we here at ChartAttack, connoisseurs
of proper entertainment news reporting, take our collective
hats off to Justin Timberlake, who recently obtained a restraining
order against a paparazzi photographer.
Cleverly referred to as "stalkerazzis" by Timberlake’s
publicist Ken Sunshine (yes, Sunshine) the case seems to be
specific towards those photographers that often follow their
celebrity targets by car. Sunshine noted that unless someone
were bold enough to follow through legally on the issue, eventually,
a princess or something gets killed in one of these chases.
Thankfully, Timberlake, a man of the people, has balls the
size of Guadeloupe.
Timberlake sought the restraining order back on July 7 against
photographer Artemus Earl Lister, whom he claimed was actively
stalking the pop star pretty boy. Timberlake has also filed
a lawsuit in a London court against News Of The World, a British
tabloid which got the inside scoop on Timberlake’s apparent
infidelity. From Britney Spears to Cameron Diaz, it’s
only logical that JT would eventually snag himself a model
too, but Timberlake denies ever even meeting Lucy Clarkson,
the British model in question.
Just for the record, in today's News Of The World, there
are five entertainment stories, four of which involve sex
in some lewd form, while the fifth is all about a "catfight."
For their part, News Of The World stand behind their story.

The new cool? The mullet
(7/28/04) SAM SESSA Fort

It came from the '80s, clawing its way onto skulls everywhere.
Business in the front, party in the back.
The mullet.
For a decade we felt the shockwaves. From Michael Bolton
to Mel Gibson to Joe the local auto mechanic, the mullet's
power stretched far and wide. And now, just when we thought
our scalps were safe, the mullet is once again riding high.
"It never quite goes and it comes back again,"
said Mark Larson, co-author of "The Mullet: Hairstyle
of the Gods." "It's kind of like what they say about
the evolution of roaches. They've been here since the dinosaurs,
and they just keep adapting. The mullet adapts."
So the style has mutated from the traditional mullet of short
hair in front, cropped above the ears, and long hair in back,
cascading over the shoulders. This time around we're dealing
with a different breed: the shag mullet. Most popular with
young men, the bangs hang just below the eyebrows, while the
back creeps down to the shoulders.
As with most trends, we have celebrities to thank. This summer
former `N Sync member JC Chasez and Maroon 5 guitarist James
Valentine wore mullets at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. Actor
John Hensley of TV's "Nip/Tuck" and Everclear frontman
Art Alexakis are now doing the same...
