“The song I released wasn't even supposed to be a
single. I guess after it came out… they were like,
'You've got to do a record now, it's kind of a big
deal.’”

Justin makes Heat Magazine list
(8/24/04) Jaco Nel News24 South Africa

Johannesburg - Gareth Cliff is South Africa's favourite celebrity, according to heat magazine.

Cliff, 5fm DJ and former Idols judge, is number seven on an international list of 100 people.

Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham is number one. She scooped first place after securing over 50 000 votes.

Most people voted for her because David Beckham cheated on her, because she could stand her ground and for her taste in fashion.

Second place went to Brad Pitt and third to Angelina Jolie. Hot on her heels were Orlando Bloom (4), Pitt's wife, Jennifer Aniston (5) and Britney Spears (6).

Another South African on the list is Heinz Winckler, who came 13th, while Justin Timberlake took the 14th spot. Danny K is at 33 and Springbok Nude Girls and New Porn rocker Arno Carstens at 47.

Models only made up four percent of the list. South Africa's Lee-Ann Liebenberg came in at 66 and Kerry McGregor at 74. They were however more popular than Kate Moss who took 84th place.

Pop culture passes the torch
A new generation is ready to take over the media world
(8/23/04) Detroit News

The over-25 crowd has been ruling the entertainment industry for too long.

Here are the next generation’s strongest trendsetters already working to take their place:

...Justin Timberlake, 23. Before becoming legal, he was the hottie of super-hot group *NSYNC. Now, at 23, he’s got a new senorita, Hollywood royalty Cameron Diaz, and a solo career that pop fans love...

A distant second
(8/23/04) Akron Beacon Journal

*N Sync star Joey Fatone has reluctantly accepted his pal Justin Timberlake is better looking than he is, after observing fans' reactions.

Fatone admits the things that female admirers say to him are nowhere near as flirtatious as what the weasel-voiced Timberlake hears on a regular basis.

He tells World Entertainment News: "A young girl goes up to Justin and says, 'Oh, my God, you're so cute, I want to marry you.'

"She goes up to me and says, 'Joey, my mom loves you and wants to cook you dinner.'"
