(9/2/04) Media 8 Entertainment

poster from Media 8 Entertainment8/30/04-- M8 Entertainment Inc. (TSX: MEE.A and MEE.B), a leading Canadian film entertainment company, announced today that principal photography has been completed on its feature film Lovewrecked. The teen comedy project stars Amanda Bynes (What a Girl Wants), Chris Carmack (Fox TV’s “The O.C.”), Jamie-Lynn DiScala (HBO’s “The Sopranos”), and Jonathan Bennett (Mean Girls). Lovewrecked is directed by veteran comedy director Randal Kleiser (director of Grease and Honey I Blew Up the Kid), from a script by Stephen Langford. M8 Entertainment’s Sammy Lee and Stewart Hall are serving as producers on the film, along with Bacon & Eggs’ Joe Anderson and Wendy Thorlakson.

“It’s been a tremendously exciting and rewarding process to see Lovewrecked come to life,” said M8’s Stewart Hall. “Everything fell perfectly into place, as we were able to assemble a very talented cast of up-and-coming young stars, along with a top notch director like Randal. We are really looking forward to seeing the finished film, as it should be every bit as funny and charming as we had hoped,” further added Hall.

In Lovewrecked, Ms. Bynes plays Jenny, an eighteen year-old girl who is ecstatic when she finds herself seemingly shipwrecked with her favorite rock star, Jason. However, in reality they are just a stone’s throw from the luxury tropical resort where Jenny is working for the summer, but Jenny keeps this a secret from Jason in order to try to win his affections.

The film was shot entirely on location in the Dominican Republic, with most of the scenes being shot at the Sun Village Beach Resort in Puerto Plato. The resort, a luxury vacation resort owned by EMI, worked closely with the producers to provide them with support and assistance while filming. ”The Sun Village Beach Resort was the perfect place to film, as it offered an amazing backdrop,” said executive producer Matt Leonetti. “Without the help and support of the owners and management, we wouldn’t have been able to shoot such a quality motion picture,” further added Leonetti...

Chris concert and music video
(9/1/04) Kirkpatrick.nu

Bev told Robin at Kirkpatrick.nu that there's going to be a video for "Who Am I," the song Chris performed at the April Fools Ball.

Also, there are some talks about a possible Little Red Monsters concert in Orlando in November. It would be a charity event (possibly for Childwatch) in a venue that could hold approximately 2,500 people. The object of course is to get the venue packed. If this is something you, or someone you know, would be interested in attending, please email Robin at robin@kirkpatrick.nu. She will keep a running tally and turn it into the people that it needs to go to. This is not a 100% for sure thing, but it is being considered.

Alex Boyd: The New Elvis?
(8/31/04) Ben Katner TV Guide Online

The tabloids won't have to dig too deep to come up with dirt on velvet-voiced Alex Boyd, whose debut single, "In Your Eyes," drops today: The Fame grad is the first to admit that he has a split personality, at least where his music is concerned. That's why his album, The Hip Side and the Flip Side (due out this fall), comprises two discs, the first a collection of au courant R&B tracks; the second, classic cuts given a modern edge.

"I've pretty much grown up on old music," the heartthrob-in-the-making explains to TV Guide Online. "I've been influenced by Sinatra, Harry Connick Jr., the Beatles.... Hell, even Handel and Bach! On the other hand, I've also had a lot of pop influence. For instance, I think Justin Timberlake's solo record was phenomenal..."
