Filmed in Los Angeles, the first 10 episodes of CELEBRITY
BLACKJACK features a new group of stars competing against
each other at 21 hands of blackjack for the charity of their
choice. The winner from each week's game will go on to compete
in two semi-final match-ups. The top two winners from each
semi-finals game will compete in the championship episode.
New to CELEBRITY BLACKJACK this season are the graphics that
appear onscreen from time to time with statistical information
pertaining to player win percentages on certain hands. For
example, a player who doubles down on 11 when the dealer has
7 results in a win 62% of the time.
The premiere episode of CELEBRITY BLACKJACK features Jason
Alexander, Ricki Lake, Jeff Probst and Steve Howey taking
on each other and the dealer, as they vie for the $25,000
charity prize and a slot in the semi-finals round.
Viewers will have the opportunity through GSN iTV to compete
with the stars by playing their own hand of blackjack against
the on-air dealer and answering side bet and bonus questions.
Viewers can also obtain blackjack tips via wireless text message,
as well as vote on blackjack strategies. In addition, viewers
can log on to www.gsn.com and play the "You Bet Your
Stars" sweepstakes for a chance to win a trip to Hollywood.
Each star will receive a minimum of $10,000 for their charity,
with the winner of each first-round game receiving $25,000
and a place in the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, the first
place winners will receive another $75,000 and the second
place winners $25,000 -- both win a seat in the final game
where the four qualifiers compete for a first place prize
of $200,000 and a second place prize of $50,000. The first
place winner of the series earns an impressive total of $300,000
for their charity.
The winner of the first CELEBRITY BLACKJACK series was comedienne
Caroline Rhea who earned a grand prize of $100,000 for her
charities.
Fatones shoot episode for 'Meet the Family'

In the second part of TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider's
interview with Crowgrrl.com, Dee spoke about his involvement
in the upcoming VH1 reality show "Meet the Family".
"VH1 just finished filming the bulk of the pilot and
a couple other potential episodes for 'Meet the Family',"
he revealed. "It's a new series they're doing —
taking celebrity families, doing pilots on them, and then
sort of mini-reality series. Their idea is — for a new
approach, here's just a little dose of Dee Snider and his
family, a dose of George Hamilton and his family, a dose of
Joey Fatone and his family. But they're also sort of testing
the waters, and if they get a good reaction, they can blow
it up.

[10/4/04]-- Today kicks off World Space Week, held annually
October 4-10. A celebration of the contributions of space
science and technology to the betterment of humans, World
Space Week will be marked by events in almost 50 countries.
Endorsed by the United Nations, events are coordinated by
Spaceweek International Organization, a non-governmental,
educational group. This year's theme is "Space and Sustainable
Development," and many events involve school children.
Kids in Vienna, Austria, for example, will hold a mock UN
conference to discuss their ideal planet. At the SOS Children's
Village in Asiakwa, Ghana, there will be a World Space Poster
Exhibition. In the United States, Lance Bass of the band NSYNC
will visit Los Angeles schools to promote math and science
education, and many other schools, museums, and organizations
nationwide have planned activities. For more information on

...Justin goes to the dogs
The delectable and multitalented Justin Timberlake, who'll
make his acting debut in the indie thriller Edison alongside
Kevin Spacey and Morgan Freeman (it's due out next year),
has already signed to star in his second flick. According
to the Hollywood Reporter, the Nick Cassavetes-helmed Alpha
Dog will have Justin play the best friend of the drug dealer
(played by Emile Hirsch) who became the youngest man ever
to be on the FBI's most-wanted list.
The flick's name is a tad ironic. According to the New York
Post, Justin may no longer be on Cameron Diaz's most-wanted
list - because he's been acting like a dog. The tab says he's
having a fling with "a lovely brunette" named Monica,
26. While Timberlake's rep denies the affair, we shudder with
dread at the thought that Cam and Justin could be headed to
Splitsville. We doubt we could survive that agony...
JC and Eva k-i-s-s-i-n-g
More smiley, lovey news: If, like us, you've been anguished
with doubts about JC Chasez's happiness, rest easy. The 'N
Sync singer is canoodling with Eva Longoria, the star of ABC's
Desperate Housewives, whose Maximonline.com photo spread would
make Hugh Hefner blush. According to Star mag, Eva's so smitten,
she held JC tight during their walk down the red carpet at
the Emmys. We are warmed and emotionally nourished by this...
